You need to be at least 15 ½ years old.
If you are a high school student you can take our drivers ed course before you turn 15 ½ years old,
but you cannot apply for a learner’s permit until you turn 15 ½. It is recommended that you are at least 15
years of age before you start this course so that you will thoroughly remember the course material when taking the
written test at the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for a permit.
Our
California online drivers ed course
is approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles and satisfies the DMV requirements for the issuance of DMV Form DL-400C for Completion of Drivers Education.
You will be sent this form at the end of the course, which you will need to take with you when you apply for your learner's permit.
We have many interactive videos throughout the course that will help you grasp the concepts you are learning.
We don't put time constraints on our
driver's education programs.
A time constraint would force you to spend a fixed amount of time on a chapter before letting you move forward. Our online class is entirely self-paced.
If it takes you a little more time to read the lesson material and answer quiz questions, then you can go more slowly. If you are able to read more quickly,
then your skills will not be restrained and you can move along at a faster pace. We strongly recommend taking your time to fully understand and absorb all the
driving instruction material provided.
Fully comprehending our entire course will definitely make you a more knowledgeable driver and help your testing process at the DMV
go much more smoothly.
